#331 now being served at Window 7
Having moved to Washington recently, I need to get a driver license. I brought my Arizona license, Social Security card, proof of insurance (in Washington) and the papers for the vehicle which was registered in Washington earlier in the day.
The DOL goon at window 7, University Place office of DOL, was in his glory, practically announcing to all present that I was not in compliance -- not having proof of residency. This means I have no papers from the government showing that I am "on the dole", receiving food stamps, assistance or welfare. They would have accepted that, since they probably see a lot of that addressed to those that schlep up to the window each day. I don't qualify for government assistance, so had none of these documents available.
The fool behind window 7 didn't mention that a pay stub with my address on it, would have been sufficient proof. I found this out a few hours later when I phoned the office to get a list of accepted forms of identification. Why didn't he mention this? Maybe he doesn't see too many pay stubs given as proof of residency here in Washington...
